What is a Tommy Gun?
The Tommy Gun, officially the Thompson submachine gun, is the most iconic gangster weapon from the American 1920s and 30s. The weapon was widely used by gangsters such as Al Capone and has since become inextricably linked with the image of the classic mafia gangster. A fake Tommy Gun is the perfect prop accessory for a gangster costume at carnival and theme parties.
Combining a gangster gun with your outfit
A gangster gun works best as part of a complete gangster outfit. Carry the Tommy Gun over your shoulder or hold it in your hand for maximum effect. A pistol in a holster on your belt suits a more subtle mafia look. Always combine it with a pinstripe suit, fedora, and fake cigar for the most recognizable gangster look at carnival.
