Cowboy is an English word that literally means "cow boy". It was a person who had to drive cattle on the vast plains of America.
Cowboys rode horses. With their lassos, cows or mustangs (horses) were captured from the group. Cowboys are known as dangerous machos who mainly targeted the Indians. This is mainly due to their image and tough movies. It is likely that in the heyday of 1860-1890 there were approximately 35,000 cowboys in America.
