Halloween night really begins when the main lights go out: the Lanterns pumpkin LED light string is a 185 cm light garland with ten 7.5 cm paper lanterns, each printed with a grinning pumpkin face. The LED lights give off a warm orange glow through the thin paper, without an open flame. Great for a Halloween party or a spooky children's gathering, where boys and girls can help hang it up.
How is this pumpkin light string powered, and what is it made of?
The Lanterns pumpkin LED light string is battery-operated: there is a plastic battery holder with a switch at the end, so a nearby power outlet is not necessary.
- The string is 185 cm long and has ten light points at regular intervals.
- Each lantern measures 7.5 cm and is orange with black eyes, a triangular nose and a wide smiling mouth.
- The lanterns are made of paper, while the string and holder are made of plastic (50% polypropylene, 30% PVC, 20% polystyrene).
- The light wire is barely noticeable against a white wall or ceiling.
- The string is intended for indoor use, so do not hang it outside in the rain.
Pumpkin lanterns as Halloween decorations
The grinning pumpkin face, also known as a jack-o'-lantern, comes from the Irish and Scottish tradition of placing hollowed-out turnips and later pumpkins with a light inside in the window. With LED lights instead of a candle, you get the same orange glow without heat or dripping wax, which is handy when children are running around the house. A string with ten faces distributes the light across an entire room, while a single table lantern only illuminates a windowsill. Turn on the lights as soon as it starts getting dark outside, because that is when the black faces stand out most clearly.
Pumpkin LED light string in your party decorations
Hang the string above the candy table, along a stair railing, or across a window where children passing by the door can see it well. Black-and-orange decorations, cobwebs and paper bats match the same colors. Keep the rest of the room lighting low, so the orange glow stands out best.
