    Description & features

The black wallet/purse is a small belt bag with a pointed flap, a black lace along the rounded bottom edge and two tassels in the middle. It is intended for women who want to keep their money close at hand during carnival or a medieval party, without carrying a separate bag. You hang it from your belt, so your hands remain free to dance or toast.

Flap, lace and tassels of the purse

    • The purse is completely black, from the flap to the lace along the edge.
    • The flap tapers down in a V-shape and has a stitched square at the top.
    • Along the bottom edge runs a black lace through a row of holes, which gives the purse a handmade look.
    • Under the point of the flap hang two tassels made of narrow strips.
    • The purse is intended to be attached to a belt; the belt itself is not included.
    • The material is 100% polyurethane.
    • Do not wash, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron and do not dry clean.

The belt bag as a medieval money pouch

In the Middle Ages, a belt bag was the usual place for money and small items, because clothing at that time usually had no sewn-in pockets. Peasants, merchants and travelers therefore carried a pouch or bag on their belt. We also know a similar model with tassels from the Scottish sporran, which hangs in front of the kilt. With such a money pouch on the hip, you immediately recognize a costume as historical, even if the rest of the outfit is simple.

With which medieval outfit do you hang this purse on the belt?

The black wallet/purse looks best on a long tunic or dress in a light earth tone, with a fabric belt at the waist. Especially against beige or brown, the black and the lace edge stand out. Make the look recognizable with a short cape with a hood, a simple laced neck and flat shoes, then you will look like a market woman, peasant or traveler. For a visit to Elfia or a medieval party, stick to those muted colors; during carnival, the whole thing can be a bit more extravagant.

Order the black wallet/purse and keep your hands free during carnival or a medieval party.
