What is a petticoat?
The tutu skirt or petticoat is made of tulle. This fine mesh fabric is usually made of nylon. This makes it a very light fabric. The petticoat was already worn by women of nobility in the 16th century. In combination with a tightly laced corset, it accentuated the waist of the lady in question.
