The witch as a spooky figure for Halloween

The witch with a pointed hat, green skin and broom is one of the most recognisable figures of Halloween. This image comes from old folk tales, in which the witch flew over the rooftops at night. The green skin and hooked nose are later additions from film and illustrations, and it is precisely this exaggeration that makes the figure more comically spooky than truly scary. At 138 centimetres, this witch hangs almost at eye level, so visitors will see her immediately as they enter.

Where is the best place to hang the witch with broom decoration?

Choose a place where the fabric can hang freely, such as a door frame, a stairwell or a branch in the garden shed. The mesh robe moves in the breeze, making the figure appear to float on its own. Combine her with cobwebs, a cauldron or orange lights for a complete spooky corner, and place a few pumpkins underneath to fill the height.
