The HOORAY IT'S A BOY letter banner is a party banner made of light blue capital letters that together form the text HOORAY IT'S A BOY, separated by two round star discs. Everything about this banner revolves around one message: a son is on the way or has just been born, and anyone who enters will see that immediately. You can hang it up at the baby shower or at the celebration after the birth.
Letters, colours and stars on the birth banner
- The text is in capital letters, divided into the three words HOORAY, IT'S, and A BOY, all in light blue.
- Between the words is a round disc with a grey star on a light blue background with white dots.
- The letters and discs hang one after the other on a single line, causing the banner to drape in a slight arc.
- Blue and white are the colours of the banner, with the grey stars as the only accent.
- The banner is from the brand Haza Witbaard.
A blue banner for a baby shower and celebration
In the Netherlands, light blue is the colour you expect for the birth of a boy, and this birth banner fully embraces that. A baby shower is usually held a few weeks before the due date, while the celebration follows as soon as the baby arrives. The text is suitable for both occasions. Because the message is stated in words and not just in colour, the banner leaves no room for doubt: choose it when the announcement itself is meant to take centre stage. Common places to hang it are above the front door, along the wall behind the gift table, or above the cake.
What decorations should you hang around this blue birth banner?
Light blue and white balloons work well around the banner, as they repeat the colours of the letters. A tablecloth or napkins in the same shades will complete the gift or cake table. If you want to add an accent, choose something in silver-grey to match the stars between the words. This way, the text won't hang alone on the wall, but will form the centrepiece of a complete blue display.
