Hanging decoration 2m Chinese Dragon

The 2m Chinese dragon hanging decoration is a red hanging dragon with an orange head, an openwork body and a flaming tail, measuring two metres long.

The dragon brings the atmosphere of a Chinese street parade indoors, in the colour red, which in China represents luck and celebration. It is perfect for Chinese New Year and Chinese-themed parties, above the bar, along a wall or across the length of a party room.

The dragon's head, body and tail

• The dragon measures two metres from head to tail.
• The head is orange with green and red accents, an open mouth and a black-and-white eye.
• A red tassel hangs beneath the mouth.
• The red body features an openwork diamond pattern and falls in folds, with four cut-out legs underneath.
• The tail ends in flames of orange, red and green.

How does a Chinese dragon differ from a Western dragon?

A Chinese dragon is a long, wingless, snake-like creature that symbolises luck, strength and prosperity, while the Western dragon from legends is a winged monster. This long shape is reflected in this hanging dragon: no wings, but a winding body with short legs. During Chinese New Year, a dragon dance parades through the streets, with dancers waving a long dragon on poles. To create a similar waving effect indoors, hang the dragon from two or three points so that the body sags slightly between them.

A Chinese party centred around the red dragon

The dragon becomes the centrepiece of your decor, and with red lanterns and a red tablecloth around it, you can carry the colour throughout the room. If your guests dress in Chinese costumes with a standing mandarin collar and carry fans, their outfits will complement the decorations on the ceiling. A gong next to the entrance and paper fans on the table complete the Chinese decor.

Order the 2m Chinese dragon hanging decoration and let a two-metre dragon wind above the party table during Chinese New Year.
