Wat is het Zomercarnaval Rotterdam?
Het Zomercarnaval Rotterdam – onderdeel van Rotterdam Unlimited – is een van de grootste zomerse straatfestivals van Europa. Het viert de Caribische, Latijns-Amerikaanse, Braziliaanse en Kaapverdische cultuur met muziek, dans en een spectaculaire optocht. Het hoogtepunt is de Straatparade, waarbij duizenden dansers in kleurrijke kostuums met veren en pailletten door het centrum van Rotterdam trekken, aangemoedigd door honderdduizenden bezoekers. In 2026 vindt het Zomercarnaval plaats op 4, 24 en 25 juli 2026, met de grote Straatparade op zaterdag 25 juli.
