A Halloween cape is a separate cloak that you wear over your own clothes, usually with a hood or a high stand-up collar. Around October 31, this is the quickest part of a spooky look: you tie it closed at the neck and the outfit is complete. This makes it part of the broader Halloween costume assortment, and it is just as suitable for a themed party or costume party.
First pay attention to the length, because that determines the silhouette. The lengths range from 62 cm for children to 152 cm for adults: around 70 to 100 cm falls at a child's knee or calf, and from 140 cm the fabric drags on an adult to around the ankles. Children's sizes are sometimes given as body length (128-140 cm, 158 cm) and sometimes as an age indication from 7 years. For adults you see size M-L, S-L or one size, and that can be because a cape hangs loosely over your clothes instead of closing. Then look at the neck closure: a thin cord or ribbon you tie yourself, a stand-up collar keeps the cape upright and frames the face. Also check how complete an item is delivered.
